Carlo joined CSERGE as a Senior Research Associate in February 2007, working with Prof. Ian Bateman and Dr. Brett Day on the ChREAM (Catchment Hydrology, Resources, Economics and Management) project, funded by the Rural Economy and Land Use (RELU) programme. Carlo’s ongoing research includes developing a spatial, dynamic, econometric model for the analysis of the economic impact of various policy measures upon agricultural land use. Particular attention is placed on policy options aimed to reduce diffuse pollution, in compliance with the implementation of the Water Framework Directive.
Carlo has a background in Applied Econometrics, his main research interest is developing quantitative models to inform policy decision making, particularly in the context of Environmental Economics and Management. During his PhD, he also worked on Energy Economic issues, developing structural and forecasting models for carbon, gas and electricity traded in liberalised markets.
