VERHI
VERHI attempts to examine and address the problems associated with economic decision making regarding projects which address risks (particularly environmental risks) which affect children’s health. This builds upon a large literature which tries to answer the thorny question of how much society should spend to save human lives.
SPICOSA
Spicosa´s overall aim is to develop a self-evolving, holistic research approach and support tools for the assessment of policy options for sustainable management through a balanced consideration of the ecological, social and economic aspects of Coastal Zone Systems (Integrated Coastal Zone Management).
nPOPA
John Turnpenny and Andrew Jordan (with Claudio Radaelli, University of Exeter) convened a cross-disciplinary workshop on “The Politics of Policy Appraisal” (PoPA) in Cambridge, 24-26 June 2007. Policy appraisal has become increasingly popular in the UK, Europe and more generally the OECD countries.

Current research projects
CSERGE undertakes policy relevant interdisciplinary research on environmental issues. Central to our mission is the pursuit of excellence in the conduct and presentation of research and a commitment to explore relevant environmental issues for a variety of circumstances and stakeholders, and across different temporal and spatial scales.
Multi-level Governance in the European Union: a federal theoretical analysis
This project is aimed at disseminating my doctoral research while developing new areas for investigation. My doctoral thesis examined the value of theories of federalism for explaining European Union (EU) integration, with a focus on environmental policy. As such, the research is well placed to contribute to ongoing public and academic debates over the development of the EU, particularly recent constitutional changes. It also engages with environmental governance, currently a significant and expanding area of European public policy.
